This live video conference distance learning course INCLUDES the textbook Florida Real Estate Principles, Practices & Law by Linda Crawford which the course is built around. . Cooke also includes important supplemental study material to prepare students for the difficult State Exam including copies of Chapter 475, Part I, Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code Rule 61J2. Additionally, Cooke provides important on-line course materials which is part of Cooke's effort to supply more course materials and course helper, than any other school in Florida. . See below

Computer and Internet access

Students MUST have a computer and access to the Internet because some important course materials must be accessed by the Internet. The end-of-course exam is also completed online.


Viewing live and recorded class via the Internet

Students can view recorded classes on their computer with a broadband connection to the Internet. This perfect for reviewing and preparing for the end-of-course exam and state exam.       


Additional Course Material is Included

This course is a live presentation, person to person communication, so Cooke and its instructors encourage students to ask questions at various intervals during the course.

Included in the course package is additional materials to prepare students for the end-of-course exam and the state exam are such items as links to important laws, rules and documents; crossword puzzles to help student learn the real estate vocabulary; and supplement quizzes. **See graphic on the the left for more details.


Instructor Support:

Even though this course is instructor led and totally live interactive, students can communicate with the instructor after class too. Cooke Real Estate School has an instructor available for questions about course material by e-mail Instructors@cookeschool.com. With an e-mail to the instructor, the student will have a written document of the response. For questions by e-mail, there is a 24 Hour response time Monday through Friday, E-mails over Saturday, Sunday or a legal holiday will be returned the first business day.


The Licensing Process:

  1. To enter the exciting real estate profession, a student needs to take this course and pass the course with a score of 70% or more on the end-of-course exam. The student also needs to take the state exam and pass the state exam with a score of 75% or more
  2. The process to make application to the state of Florida for the Initial License process is the following:

    1. Cooke School recommends that, if at all possible, as soon as the student decides to take the sales associate license course, the student should mail in their application to the state of Florida. 

      The application needs to be notarized. Complete the application as honestly as you know how. DISCLOSE ALL .

    2. Mail the application into the state of Florida along your check for $105.
    3. Your fingerprints need to be taken at a Pearson VUE Exam Center.  Reservations are necessary for this process.  Reservations can be completed by calling Pearson VUE at 1-888-274-2020 or making reservations on the Pearson VUE website and selecting "Fingerprint Services".   The fee for the fingerprint process is $56.25 (Pearson VUE $14 and FDLE/FBI $42.25).  There are currently 15 Pearson VUE Exam and Fingerprints Centers in Florida
    4. Take the required course.

How does this live video conference course work?

  1. This course is composed of 20 sessions of course material. The course is composed of Lecture, Chapter Quizzes, Questions and Answer periods and some time is give to study the course material.
  2. If the student has a question anytime during the course, the student can certainly ask the question and the instructor can see you, the student, and can respond exactly as if the student were in the same room.
  3. The students must attend the class in-person at a video conference center. The student is monitored for attendance and roll is taken many times throughout each session. Course quizzes and participation are required.
  4. Course attendance is required, no waivers. Student must make up those hours and the specific study matter the student missed.
  5. To assist the student in the learning process, the student must complete the online quizzes for each of the Sessions before the end-of-course exam will be issued. The instructor will be going over the quizzes each day, to make sure the students are learning the material.
  6. Student are also given access to supplement quizzes, crossword puzzles, and link to important documents and laws that the course covers. The supplemental material is NOT required but to help the student learning the material so they will be in the best position possible to pass the end-of-course exam and state exam.
  7. Once the student has successfully completed the course hour requirements the student will be able to take the Course Exam. The exam portal is e-mailed to the students e-mail address.
  8. To take the course and final exam the student MUST have a computer and internet access and an e-mail address.
  9. Since the end-of-course exam is a computerized exam, the school recommends that students read this technical information, to eliminate as much as possible any technical issues that might arise.
  10. The final exam is computerized timed three hour exam. The exam is multiple choice with four choices. The student must score a 70% or more on the end-of-course exam.
  11. Every student must agree to the following affidavit: "I certify that I personally completed all assignments and have not duplicated any portion of the end-of-course examination". This certification affidavit is incorporated into the exam under 'Instructions for the Final Exam'. The student must select 'yes' and click "enter" to take the final exam.
  12. If the student fails the end of course exam, the student has two options.
    a. The student can take the class again
    b. The student can wait more than thirty days and take the exam again.
  13. If the student fails the 2nd Exam, the student will need to take the class again.
  14. Once the student successfully completes the end-of-course exam, the student must give the school a minimum of three business days to obtain their certificate.

Computer Capability requirement for end-of-course exam to be taken at home, office, friend or relative:

The course exam can be taken on any computer, in the comfort of your own home or office, as long as the computer has an internet connection. Here is the minimum requirements for the computer you use.

  • 56K modem (40 kbs)
  • 800 x 600 (16 bit)
  • Pentium II, 233 MHz
  • Sufficient memory to run your system software and browser
  • Windows 2000, XP, Me, NT, 98, 95
  • Supported Browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, 6.x.
  • AOL, Earthlink & Compuserve dial-up users should minimize their connection window and launch Microsoft Internet Explorer from the Start button in order to use the standard, supported Microsoft Internet Explorer browser.
  • Cookies enabled
  • JavaScript enabled
  • Macintosh users will want to use Internet Explorer for MAC OSX or Apple's Safari browser as their browser in viewing the online course.

Information the student needs to know before registering for this course.

  1. Tuition fee for this course must be made in full. If after the student has registered for the course, the student decides to they would like a refund, the refund is less a registration fee of $50.
  2. Once the student attends a course, if a refund is requested, a $50 registration fee will not be refunded. The request for a refund must be made in writing before the end of the third hour of the course. After the first three hours of attendance the tuition fee is non-refundable. The student can retake the course for ONE year after registering for the course based on availability of space at the video conference center the student chooses to attend.
  3. The student has three hours to complete computerized the end-of-course exam. A passing grade of 70% on the end-of-course exam is necessary for passing the course.
  4. If the student fails the course exam, the student has to wait more than thirty days or less than one year before the student can retake the end of course exam. The student is able to have access to review the course until the student takes the end of course exam again at the 30 plus days waiting period. If the student fails the second time the student will need to take the course again.
  5. Cooke School has recorded the salesperson license course, so a student can review each presentation or chapter as the student desires. This can be very helpful to the student in learning the important course material necessary to pass the difficult State Exam.
  6. The Video Conference In-Class Learning student CAN NOT change to an On-Line web based course or vice versa. A current On-Line web based course student CAN NOT change to an instructor led video conference course without paying the full tuition fee of $249 for the instructor led video conference course.
  7. At the time of registration for the instructor led Video Conference Learning Course, the student will receive an e-mail confirming their registration and some information on what to bring to class.
  8. Upon completing the course, RE Campus posts for Cooke Real Estate School a daily report of student's final grade report. The staff at Cooke reviews this report daily, Monday through Thursday, and mails the completion certificates to those students who have successfully received a grade of 70% or better. Allow three to four business days to receive this completion certificate. When scheduling the State Exam, please allow a week between course final exam and the scheduled State Exam.
