- A Student needs to be at least 18 years or older.
- The student needs to have a high school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma).
- The student must complete and pass the approved Sales Associate License Course (Principles and Practices I) with a 70% or greater on the end of course exam.
- Pass the State Exam with a 75% or more.
- If you have had a felony conviction, there is a possibility that you could be denied or have to present your case directly to the Florida Real Estate Commission to be allowed to apply for licensure. If the student calls the Commission, the Commission will not let the student know if they are approved or not. We recommend that the student complete the application process. ALWAYS, DISCLOSE ALL , and if the student is approved to take the State Exam, the student can then go forward for licensure. The student should then take the course and complete the process by taking the State Exam.
- The Professional Profile of a Sales Associate by the state of Florida's DBPR.
- Attorney with a current Florida Bar Card.
- Four year Degree in Real Estate

- Hold an active salesperson license course for 24 months out of past 5 years.
- Completed applicable license
education renewal programs including the 45
Post License for Sales Associate if licensed

- Pass the State Exam for Brokers.
- Four year degree in real estate.

The process to make application to the state of Florida for the initial license process is the following:
- Cooke School recommends that, if at all possible, as soon as the student decides to take the sales associate license course or the broker license course, the student should make application to the state. This can be accomplished by doing it on-line or printing the application out, having it notarized and mailing the application in with a check. The school recommends students make the application on-line because it is faster and the student can attest to the facts without having to have the document notarized, saving time and money. Students can may the application payment on-line by credit card.
- Complete the application as honestly as you know how. DISCLOSE ALL.
- The application fee to the state of Florida is $105 for Salesperson and $115 for Broker.
- Your fingerprints need to be taken at a Pearson VUE Exam Center for ALL Florida applicants. Reservations are necessary for this process. Reservations can be completed by calling Pearson VUE at 1/888-204-6289 or 1/877-238-8232 making reservations on the Pearson VUE web site and selecting "Fingerprint Services". The fee for the fingerprint process is $57.25 (Pearson VUE $15 and FDLE/FBI $42.25). Here is the link to the Pearson VUE Exam and Fingerprints Centers in Florida. LINK
- Out of state applicants ONLY must receive a fingerprint card which can be obtained by calling the school at 800-943-9993. Take the card to your local police department and mail completed fingerprint card to: FL - DBPR c/o Pearson Vue, 3131 South Vaughn Way, Suite 205, Aurora, CO 80014. Must send cashier check or money order.
- Take the required course.

If a student fails any of the Cooke Distance Learning 63 Hour Sales Associate License Course.
- The student has to wait OVER 30 days after the failed exam and then take Exam B.
- If the student fails Exam B, the student will need to register for another distance learning course and pay the tuition fee again.
If the student fails the State Exam, the student can retake the State Exam again. Pearson Vue charges the student $31.50 each time they take the exam. The student has to wait 3 days before taking the State Exam again. The student may take the State Exam as many time as the student desires . BUT, remember, the State Exam application is good for only two years and the course certification is good for only two years |
