Course Information

Course Features
  • Learning Objectives: Each unit begins with a list of the unit learning objectives that will help you anticipate the unit content.
  • Practice Activities and Quick Quizzes: Each lesson begins with one learning ovjective from the unit. The practice activities and quick quizzes allow you to assess your knowledge of the lesson content.
  • Key Terms: Key terms appear at the beginning of each unit. This feature not only alerts you on the important vocabulary words that should be noted as the text is read but also helps you to study and review.
  • Key Point Reviews: At the end of each unit is a summary of the most essential content covered in each unit.
  • Unit Exams and Final Exam: Demanding fact-pattern problems encourage you to not just memorize but to also understand and apply information. This approach provides valuable practice in these important test-taking and exam preparation skills. The questions have been carefully designed to follow the style and content of the most widely used testing services and to demonstrate the types of questions that you will likely encounter on state licensing exams.

Seat time

Seat-time Requirement: State law mandates a 60-hour course for pre-licensure. As a result, there is a seat-time requirement of 3,000 minutes (60 hours x 50-minute hours). Non-movement of the mouse for more than 15 minutes will disengage the student from the course page.

Exams

    Course Exam Requirements

In our course information before registration, the student is informed that upon completing all course units and the time requirement of 60 hours (60 hrs. x 50 minutes = 3,000 minutes), the student will be ready to take their end-of-course.

Upon course completion, Dearborn sends an email to the student directing them to email the school for the next steps. Dearborn copies the school in on this email so the school is aware that the student has completed the online course requirements.

Once the student emails us, they will receive an email with end-of-course directions.

    Proctoring the computer End-of-Course Exam

The online exam needs to be proctored by a disinterested third party such as a librarian, a public school administrator, a college professor, etc. It may NOT be a relative or someone who will benefit from the student passing the exam.

The exam must be given in a professional environment, not at the proctor's home or the student's home.

Once the proctor is determined, the student needs to call the school and provide the proctor’s name to the school. The proctors must then call the school to register their: name, address, phone number, email address, and name of the business/school, or location where the proctoring of the exam will take place. Once the proctor is registered an email is sent to the proctor with the code so the proctor can access the end-of-course exam on the computer.

70% is passing the Exam. If the first attempt is not passed, a second attempt will be available.

When the student completes the 100-question exam and scores 70% or more, the student can see only their final score on the computer. No other information is provided and the exam is not accessible and is non-printable a priority, to keep the security of the exam.

Upon receiving the student's affidavit, the proctor's affidavit and the acknowledgement that the student completed RECampus' course evaluation, the school will issue the student a course completion certificate and will submit the student's records along with a picture and Social Security Number to PSI.
